I used to use the NIV a lot but lately I've realised that some verses mean so differnt in the NIV when compared to the KJV. The entire verse seems to mean different entirely. So as of now i'm sticking to NRSV and KJV. I wouldn't use KJV for my devotions (as of now) but rather as a cross reference. It is more true to the intent of the Scripture than the traditional canon and chapter and verse numbering system. It is available from the International Bible Society.
