Forgiveness, for me, is defined in the Bible.

Over and over we are taught that God will give to us in the same measure we give to others, so when I define my own concept of what forgiveness looks like, I ask myself what I want God’s forgiveness to look like.

I want His forgiveness to be complete.
I don’t want Him to hold me at arm’s length.
I don’t want Him to keep reminding me of what was forgiven.
I want Him to forget.
I want Him to trust me again.
I want Him to forgive me as many times as it takes.

That’s what I want from God, so that is what I must give to my neighbor. Is it easy? No. Can it be done? Yes. This is advanced Christianity. This is a small part of what Jesus meant when he taught us to turn the other cheek (so to speak).

This was an explanation of what forgiveness is by one unknown person. After reading what a lot of people explained what they thought forgiveness is I came across this explanation. I think he's hit the nail on the head.

It is so comforting when the truth is put out there and you know it can't be denied or tampered with and you know everyone can see it feel it and admit it. Amen for the righteous. Lets love one another forever... DC

To me, forgiveness means to not hold a grudge against a person that has sinned/wronged against you.

1. No. In fact, I probably won't forget their wrongdoings because I have a good memory..but I would no longer hold it against them.

2. I'm not sure if I'd trust them again though. Humans are sinful by nature after all.

3. Jesus states to forgive an unlimited amount of times, but I have a limit and I don't think I'd be able to continue forgiving if they repeatedly sinned. It depends, I guess.

Forgiveness means to me that you let go of the hurt, anger and pain that someone might have caused you, and you you don't have to forget what was done. This is to allow's you to become wiser about certain situations. 2.It would be hard to trust someone that hurt you.3. I am a very forgiving person, so I don't know how many times but I would forgive a person. I would'nt give people the oppertunity to hurt me over and over again.
